Your reclaim

Your DA-1 reclaim

CHF 0.00

Swiss law grants no foreign tax credit at all unless the total non-refundable foreign tax exceeds CHF 100, counted across everything you hold at every bank and broker together. This export alone is under that, so a DA-1 built from it alone would be refused. If it is your only account, that is your answer. If you also hold securities elsewhere, add the foreign tax withheld there before deciding: the floor is one total for your whole return, not one per broker.

What you get

  • eCH-0196 — the same document your bank issues
  • Official ICTax values at 31 December, not broker prices
  • DA-1 filled in automatically, with the creditable amount shown before you pay
  • No account, and no access to your portfolio. An upload is enough
  • Ready in minutes, for this tax year or an earlier one

How it works

Five stations, and you always know which one you are at

Five minutes once you have the export file, and you see where you are on every screen. Getting that file out of your broker is the fiddly part, so we walk you through it.

  1. Export

Get the right file out of your broker. Interactive Brokers needs a computer.

  2. Upload

Say which broker, which tax year and which canton, and hand over the file.

  3. Check

See every figure free: the reclaim, the positions, what was left out and why.

  4. Unlock

Pay once, or use a credit from an earlier purchase.

  5. Use

Download the files, then import them, scan the barcode, or hand them to your accountant.

Why it pays for itself

Three things you get back for CHF 19

The statement saves an hour of typing for a small portfolio, and several for one with many positions, dividends and trades. That is still the smallest of the three.

Most people never claim this Foreign tax on your dividends comes off your Swiss tax bill. On CHF 3,000 of US dividends that is CHF 450 a year. It needs a form called the DA-1, and this statement fills it. How it works, and how to see if you have been missing it →
The same document your bank sells for CHF 85 to 300 A foreign broker does not issue one.
Imported in one click, by you or your tax advisor No typing positions line by line, and the DA-1 comes with the import.

Why the account statement range ends on 31 January, not 31 December

DEGIRO files every movement under the day it was booked, and a payment with a value date of 31 December is booked on the first working day of January. A statement exported to 31 December therefore misses the year-end distributions that belong to the tax year. Exporting to 31 January of the following year catches them; we keep only the rows whose value date falls inside the tax year, and the January trades and deposits in the file are ignored.

Upload both CSV files together on the upload page; reading them is free.

Pricing

One price, once

The same two prices as the pricing page; no VAT is added, and reading your export is free.

DA-1 claim

One past tax year you already filed

CHF 19 once

  • The official form DA-1 for that year, its securities table filled in
  • An annex listing every payment behind it, which is the evidence the form asks for
  • A covering letter: where to post it, and what you still have to write on it
  • Several broker accounts in that year at no extra cost — one tax period, one form

One tax year per claim: the form carries one Steuerperiode, so three missed years are three claims. A claim lapses three years after the tax year ends.

Several statements

Up to five statements within twelve months

CHF 39 once

  • Everything in Statement
  • Five within twelve months, in any mix — statements, past-year DA-1 claims, broker accounts
  • Cheaper than buying singly from three onwards: three separate purchases are CHF 57
  • Your next statement is one click from your purchases page; a purchase code by email as the fallback

Two is not yet worth it: two singles are CHF 38. We would rather say so than sell you the bundle.
